Virtual Interprofessional Educator Resource (VIPER) Centre

VIPER (Virtual Interprofessional Educator Resource) supports teaching and learning in interprofessional health sciences. The VIPER collection includes resources relevant to students, faculty members, and clinical instructors (e.g. preceptors). It contains materials developed at the University of Alberta and beyond. Materials are organized into the following categories:

Educator Resources – This is a collection of HSERC's most popular documents for integrating interprofessional education into practice. It includes classroom activities, debriefing guides, feedback tools, worksheets, templates, and more.

Interprofessional Care Processes – This is a complete education package for learning the care processes of Rapid Rounds, Bedside Shift Report, and Patient Bedside Whiteboards. It was produced as a joint initiative between Alberta Health Services and the University of Alberta, in partnership with Covenant Health, and funded by Alberta Health.

Web Resources – This is a curated list of links to other websites relating to interprofessional education. The intent of this list is not to be exhaustive, but rather to present a focused collection of highly relevant resources.

Each resource is classified according to the core interprofessional competencies: Collaboration, Communication, Role Clarification, and Reflection. Refer to the Interprofessional Competency Framework for more information about the competencies.

To suggest a resource to be included in VIPER, please contact hserc@ualberta.ca and include “VIPER” in the subject line.
